Pete Seeger, American Favorite Ballads, Vols. 1-5
Opportunity
To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Pete Seeger's historic recordings of the American folk repertoire, Smithsonian Folkways wanted to collect all the installments (including all five CDs and five booklets from the individual releases) and present them in one complete box collection. Wanting to create an exclusive package that would set this collection apart from all others, Smithsonian Folkways called Tri-Plex for the solution.
Solution
To accommodate the five booklets and pair them with the corresponding discs, our paper engineering department created an inner construction of 5-square printed hinged-pockets that turn like the pages of a book. The pages also provide for displaying the volumes' black-and-white portraits of Pete Seeger by legendary photographer David Gahr— which includes a never-before-seen photograph of Seeger taken during the sessions with Gahr. To increase collectability, a hardcover case was used to contain this rare and historic material.
Result
Our client is extremely pleased with the packaging, considering it appropriate to the content while adding even further value for fans. The set was just released to coincide with Seeger’s ninetieth birthday on May 3rd, and both events are attracting significant press coverage for them.
If your packaging needs to be unique while remaining cost-efficient, call on Tri-Plex for solutions that get you noticed!
